Do I need to retrain Employees on WHMIS?
2015 isn’t a whole new system there’s only a few improvements, surely not enough to need to retrain all of my employees right? Wrong, even though the change between WHMIS 1988 and WHMIS may not seem drastic, there are enough changes that misinterpretation or unfamiliarity with new classifications or labels could lead to workplace accidents or injury.
Safety is our number one priority and to ensure workers are protected, all employees must understand the hazards of the materials they work with by being able to read labels and interpret information. WHMIS is currently in transition and deadlines for different levels of work must be met. If you or your employees have already been trained with WHMIS 1988 then retraining is required.
Retraining doesn’t need to be difficult though, train online with Safe and Certified where training and testing is made simple, efficient, and cost effective.
